Reliance Group distances itself from RCom, clarifies roles after CBI action

New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) Following the recent Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) action against two former executives of Reliance Communications (RCOM), the Reliance Group on Monday issued a clarification, distancing itself from the company and outlining key details regarding its management and ownership status.
In a media statement, a spokesperson for the Reliance Group said that D. Vishwanath and Anil Kalya served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President (Accounts and Finance), respectively, at RCOM after the company was admitted into the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) in 2019.
The spokesperson further stated that RCOM has been operating under the supervision of Resolution Professional Anish Nanavaty, who was appointed by the Committee of Creditors led by the State Bank of India (SBI), with Deloitte acting as advisor.

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has convicted and sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) a key accused in a terror radicalisation and recruitment case linked with the proscribed Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist organisations.
The NIA special court in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has also imposed a fine of Rs.63,000 on Maharashtra resident Hamraz Worshid Shaikh, who pleaded guilty during the trial that began in April 2026.
