Registrations open for 19th Mumbai International Film Festival

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Registration is now open for South Asia's oldest documentary, short fiction and animation film festival, Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF), to be held in Mumbai from June 15 to 21, 2026.
The week-long event will take place at the NFDC Complex on Peddar Road and is expected to attract filmmakers, artists, students, media professionals and cinema enthusiasts from around the world. Recognised as one of the oldest and most prestigious non-feature film festivals in South Asia, MIFF provides a wide-ranging platform to filmmakers, artists, media professionals and cinema lovers from across the world. MIFF event has begun through the official festival portal. Interested participants can register online through the official MIFF website.
New users will have to create their account, while existing users can directly log in. Applicants will have to fill in the required details and deposit a registration fee of Rs 500.
Student registration is free. Applications submitted under the student category will be reviewed and approved by the backend team after verification of details and supporting documents.
The Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is a landmark event and holds the distinction of being the oldest and largest film festival dedicated to documentary, short fiction and animation films in South Asia. Established in 1990 (initially as the Bombay International Film Festival), MIFF has evolved into a vibrant platform showcasing masterpieces from Indian and international filmmakers.
The 19th Mumbai International Film Festival will feature a grand opening and closing ceremony, as well as international and Indian competition sections, with the prestigious Golden and Silver Conch Awards and cash prizes worth ₹55 lakh. Major awards include the V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award, the Pramod Pati Award (for Most Innovative/Experimental Film), the Technical Excellence Award, the Best Student Film Award, and the Best Debut Director Award.
The festival will also feature several non-competition sections, including Prism – a curated showcase of top-class and innovative films from India and around the world; special curated sections showcasing internationally acclaimed and award-winning films; independent films; country-focused films; restored classics; wildlife films; student films; new media and AI films; and many more.
MIFF 2026 will also feature special screenings, red carpet events, masterclasses, panel discussions, and the Waves Doc Bazaar, making it a comprehensive celebration of cinematic excellence and creative exchange.
For the first time, the Waves Doc Bazaar will also feature the Immersive Market, a dedicated platform for immersive content creators, producers, and technology collaborators. Focused on VR, AR, XR, and interactive experiences, the market will provide a platform to showcase innovative projects, explore new storytelling formats, and foster meaningful collaborations.
