Regina Hall reflects on working with Leonardo DiCaprio in 'One Battle After Another'

Los Angeles, June 8 (UNI) Regina Hall has opened up about her experience working alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 'One Battle After Another', the upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson directed dark comedy that she describes as "a lot of laughter, strong messaging, humor, wit.”
“That was amazing,” she told PEOPLE. Calling herself “a big fan” of the award-winning writer-director, Hall, 54, says she “was so excited to be a part of a film that he was making.”
The project adapted from Thomas Pynchon's 1990 novel Vineland, marks Anderson's return to the director's chair following 2021's 'Licorice Pizza'.
Hall stars as Deandra, opposite DiCaprio's Bob Ferguson, in a plot that follows a fractured group of former radicals who are forced to regroup when a long-dormant threat resurfaces. A starry supporting cast includes Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris and more.
Upon reading the script, she recalls, “I was incredibly curious: 'What is this movie?' ... There's a lot of laughter, strong messaging, humor, wit.” “The cast, I loved,” raves Hall, calling the ensemble “an incredible group … I love Leo, Benicio, Sean Penn — Teyana's amazing.”
She also lauded Anderson's meticulous directorial style. “There's no part that's insignificant. Even if they have one line, he's so deliberate in his filmmaking. And I'm really excited for audiences to experience the film.”
'One Battle After Another' is in theaters September 26. Among Hall’s other upcoming screen projects are Peacock series 'The Five-Star Weekend', 'The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants' (in theaters December 19) and 'Girls Trip 2'.
