Reading important for a person's intellectual progress: Maha Minister

Kolhapur, Feb 15 (UNI) Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil on Sunday stressed the need for reading books and asserted that without that, knowledge can never be attained.
"Reading books is essential for the intellectual progress of a person. Reading motivates a person to think and makes one successful in life. If the reading culture is not enriched, we will be deprived of knowledge", Patil said while addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day 'Kolhapur Granthistav' here.
The festival was organised jointly by the state Higher and Technical Education department, Directorate of Libraries and the office of the District Library Officer and State government, in the presence of District Guardian Minister Prakash Abitkar.
