RCB moves Karnataka HC against CAT remarks

Bengaluru, July 8 (UNI) Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court challenging adverse observations made against it by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) regarding the June 4 stampede at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed 11 lives.
The CAT had held RCB prima facie responsible for triggering the massive crowd gathering that led to the tragedy, stating that the franchise failed to obtain timely state permissions, thereby hampering the police’s ability to manage the situation effectively.
The Tribunal made the observations while setting aside the suspension of Additional Commissioner of Police Vikash Kumar Vikash, who was held accountable by the State for alleged lapses in crowd control.
