Ranveer Singh to commence filming for 'Pralay' next month

Mumbai, July 13 (UNI) Ranveer Singh is preparing to begin principal photography for the zombie thriller "Pralay" next month, before temporarily stepping away from work to embrace fatherhood once again.
Directed by Jai Mehta, the film has been co-written by the filmmaker and screenwriter Vishal Kapoor, best known for his work on "Lootere". Production is expected to resume with a second schedule sometime in 2027, according to Variety India.
Singh and Deepika Padukone, who tied the knot in 2018 in Italy, welcomed their daughter Dua in September 2024. The couple has largely kept their daughter away from the public eye, sharing only occasional glimpses of their journey as parents while maintaining a degree of privacy in their family life. They announced their second pregnancy with a joint post on Instagram in April. It featured a picture of their daughter, Dua, holding a positive pregnancy test kit. Padukone is currently in the third trimester of her pregnancy.
While details surrounding "Pralay" remain tightly guarded, including its supporting cast and production roadmap, the film has already generated considerable industry buzz. It also marks Singh's next major cinematic outing following the resounding box-office triumph of "Dhurandhar", which dominated theatres after its release in December 2025. Its sequel, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", continued the franchise's momentum upon its release earlier this year.
Padukone, meanwhile, has a busy slate of her own. She recently completed a schedule for Siddharth Anand’s “King,” in which she reunites with her “Jawan” co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She will also be seen in Atlee’s ambitious sci-fi action film “Raaka,” headlined by “Pushpa” actor Allu Arjun.
