Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ becomes highest-grossing hindi film of all time

New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has created history at the box office, rewriting record books by surpassing ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film crossed the lifetime Hindi collections of the Allu Arjun-starrer in its fifth week, taking its total earnings to Rs 831.40 crore.
Taking to X, Adarsh wrote, “This is The biggest moment in the History of Hindi film business. Till not long ago, surpassing the lifetime business of Pushpa 2 (Hindi) seemed unthinkable. But records are meant to be challenged, and shattered, and Dhurandhar has done exactly that. The film has finally overtaken the lifetime business of Pushpa 2 (Hindi), emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time on its fifth Tuesday (Day 33).”
Following the historic achievement, Yash Raj Films (YRF) released a statement celebrating the film’s unprecedented success. “Dhurandhar is not a film, it’s a milestone moment in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever. Congratulations to Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for delivering the highest-grossing Indian film of all time (in a single language). Aditya Dhar’s clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling, and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new benchmark for Indian cinema,” the statement read.
YRF also congratulated the cast and crew for their contribution, calling them the true “Dhurandhars” behind the film’s roaring success.
Reacting to the praise, Ranveer Singh expressed his gratitude and pride, writing in response to YRF, “My beloved Alma Mater. I only ever wanted to make you proud!”
Earlier this week, Dhurandhar had already achieved another landmark by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 800 crore mark in India in net collections. Since its release, the film has enjoyed an extraordinary run, earning acclaim from critics, industry insiders, and audiences alike.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and features a strong ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles. The film is the first instalment of a two-part franchise, with its sequel slated for release during Eid 2026.
