Rain brings relief from humidity, but disrupts daily life; more showers likely

Lucknow, Aug 8(UNI) On-and-off rain in Lucknow and many parts of Uttar Pradesh has given people some relief from the high humidity, but it has also caused problems in daily life.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rain, including heavy showers and thunderstorms, especially in eastern UP on August 9 and in some places on August 10.
According to the regional meteorological centre, Lucknow recorded over 6 cm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 pm on Thursday. While the southwest monsoon remained weak over western UP, it was reported to be normal in the eastern region.
