Railways qualify for final rounds of Rajmata Jijabai Trophy

Greater Noida, Oct 14 (UNI) Former champions Railways moved into the final rounds of the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy from Group C after routing hosts Uttar Pradesh 6-0 at the Shaheed Vijay Pathak Sports Stadium here on Monday.
Railways have made the grade with nine points from three matches. They scored 23 goals and conceded two. Uttar Pradesh finished second in the group with six points.
The winners took an early grip of the match and led 5-0 at half time. While international Anju Tamang netted a quick hat-trick (15’, 19’, 28’), Yumnam Kamala Devi (3’, 13’) and Sanju (57’) were the other scorers.
