Quran recital sparks BJP-Cong row in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Oct 9 (UNI) A fresh political controversy has erupted in Karnataka after a video showing a Quran recital at an event in Hubballi went viral, triggering a sharp exchange between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The incident occurred on October 5 during the inauguration of development works on Devar Gudihal Road and the symbolic distribution of sewing machines to beneficiaries. Labour and District In-charge Minister Santosh Lad, who was present, also announced projects worth Rs 14 crore.
BJP leaders alleged that the event, attended by government officials, violated official protocol by including a Quran recital.
