Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) Congress MP from Chandigarh Manish Tewari on Thursday wondered
what US President Donald Trump has "truthed" (tweeted) about in the context of India-Pakistan ceasefire.
Tewari asked whether Pakistan has given any assurances to the US to dismantle the terror infrastructure. State Department principal deputy spokesperson Thomas 'Tommy' Pigott said that he was not going to talk about private diplomatic conversations.
"The President truthed about this. He was very clear in terms of that……..” Pigott said.
Tewari said Pigott's statement was self-explanatory. "The question was what has Trump truthed about?"
Trump announced a ceasfire before India and Pakistan could announce officially. The US President has also claimed that if both countries would not stop, he wouldn't do any trade with them, after which both countries agreed to the ceasefire, said Tewari.
Several Opposition leaders have asked the government to clear the air whether a ceasefire was announced under American pressure and have demanded a special session of Parliament. The government has maintained that there was no scope for a third party role.
