Punjabi athletes gear up for Paris Olympics with state support

Chandigarh, June 13 (UNI) Each Punjabi athlete participating in the Olympics will receive Rs 15 lakh for their preparation, state Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer announced on Thursday.
Meet Hayer also said substantial cash prizes await medal-winning athletes, with Rs 3 crore, Rs 2 crore, and Rs 1 crore earmarked for gold, silver, and bronze medalists, respectively.
Addressing officials at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, he highlighted the significant representation of Punjabi athletes in various disciplines.
