Punjab :  VB arrests former Patwari, his associate  for taking bribe

Chandigarh, Oct 14 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has registered a corruption case against former Patwari Gurnam Singh, posted at Revenue halqua Gill, his associates Buta Singh and Rana Singh, resident of village Gill, Ludhiana district for accepting bribe in connivance with each other amounting to Rs 65000 in instalments.
The VB has arrested Patwari Gurnam Singh and his associate Rana Singh who would be produced in the court on Tuesday.
The complainant has alleged in his complaint that two private persons namely Buta Singh and Rana Singh had arranged his meeting with Patwari Gurnam Singh who had demanded Rs one lakh for mutation (Intqal) of his plot.
