Punjab Police seizes 64kg heroin worth ₹450 crore in Amritsar; two smugglers arrested

Chandigarh, April 18 (UNI) Punjab Police has seized 64.62 kg of high-grade heroin, estimated to be worth approximately ₹450 crore in the international market, in Amritsar. The operation also led to the arrest of two individuals involved in the interstate smuggling network.
The suspects have been identified as Sarwan Singh, a resident of Awa village, and Shamsher Singh, a resident of Iktiyarnagar village. Police teams near Mahal village intercepted them while they were reportedly preparing to distribute the contraband.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the heroin was smuggled across the border from Pakistan. Police officials revealed that the operation has direct links to foreign-based handlers and the notorious Musa gang operating out of Pakistan.
