Punjab Police arrest two Lawrence Bishnoi Gang operatives

Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) In a significant operation, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab Police apprehended two key operatives of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang on the Patiala-Ambala Highway near Village Shambhu, officials confirmed today.
Initial investigations indicate the suspects, who have a history of over 15 heinous crimes across Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, had fled to Nepal after committing a murder.
Acting on instructions from foreign-based handlers, they returned to Punjab to orchestrate a high-profile crime. The duo was also wanted in connection with the recent murder of Bharat Ratan, alias Vicky, in Fazilka.

Boatmen avert tragedy, rescue three drowning pilgrims at Varanasi Ghat

Varanasi, Apr 19 (UNI) A major mishap was averted at Shivala Ghat in Varanasi on Sunday morning when three women from a group of pilgrims nearly drowned while taking a dip in the Ganga.
Thanks to the swift response of local boatmen, all three were rescued safely.The group of around 15 pilgrims had arrived from Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh for a religious visit to Varanasi. During their morning bath at the ghat, the three women accidentally moved into deeper waters and began to struggle.
