Dharamshala, June 7 (UNI) Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after recovering 42 grams of opium from a Punjab resident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district.
Kangra district Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan told UNI that, on Friday, a police team recovered 42 grams of opium from Pragat Singh, a resident of Urdan, Ajnala, Amritsar, Gorenangal in Punjab, during checking at Draman Bridge under Shahpur police station limits.
He said that a case has been registered under Sections 17 and 61 of the NDPS Act, 1985, at Shahpur Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
