Punjab: Man accused of Grenade attack suffers injuries in police encounter

Jalandhar, Mar 18 (UNI) A man accused of carrying out a grenade attack on a house in Raipur Rasulpur Panchayat in Jalandhar, Punjab was injured in an encounter with the police on Tuesday.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that based on reliable intelligence, Jalandhar Rural Police had arrested Hardik Kamboj, the prime accused in the attack on YouTuber Navdeep Singh alias Roger Sandhu, from Yamuna Nagar in Haryana yesterday.
The accused tried to escape during a recovery operation at Maqsudan police station and opened fire on the police party. The police fired back in self-defence, which resulted in leg injury of the accused. He was immediately provided medical aid and shifted to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. Police have recovered a .32 bore pistol and six live cartridges from the spot.
