Punjab Guv orders probe into SSF vehicle purchases after complaint

Chandigarh, Nov 8 (UNI) The Punjab government has ordered an inquiry into the purchase of 144 Toyota Hilux vehicles procured for the state’s newly formed Road Safety Force (SSF).
The investigation follows a complaint lodged by Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, prompting Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s office to issue directions to the state’s Home Department. The probe has been handed over to the Director General of Police (DGP).
Official sources said the Home Department issued the investigation order on October 31. The DGP has been asked to complete the probe within 15 days and submit the report to the complainant, the Governor’s office, and the Home Department by November 15.
