Punjab: Father-son duo arrested for outraging religious feelings

Phagwara, June 19 (UNI) The Punjab police have arrested a father-son duo on the charge of outraging religious feelings in Jalandhar district, an official said on Thursday/
Investigating Officer (IO) of Shahkot police station Buta Ram said the accused has been identified as Ravindar Kumar alias Babbu of Talwandi Madho village, and his son Raj Kumar.
Nirmal Singh of Billi Chao village in Nakodar, complained to the police that the accused attacked and slapped him on June 18 and removed his turban.

Modi govt approves 17 roads worth Rs 83 82 cr for Hamirpur: Anurag Singh Thakur

Hamirpur (HP), Jan 19 (UNI) Former union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Anurag Singh Thakur, said the central government has given its approval for 17 road projects worth ₹83.82 crore for the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
These projects will involve the construction of roads totaling 53.71 kilometers in length, providing direct road connectivity to 23 settlements in the region.

Haryana officers told to work on concrete strategy for water conservation

Kaithal (Haryana), Jan 19 (UNI) In water-stressed Kaithal district, government officials present at a review meeting on Monday were told to work on a concrete strategy for water conservation and given a set of clear instructions to make detailed plans by May and send their report to the Central Ground Water Board.
Presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Sushil Kumar, the meeting closely reviewed the progress of water harvesting and conservation works going on in the district under Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
