Punjab: Explosive hurled at temple in Amritsar

Amritsar, Mar 15 (UNI) An explosive was hurled at a temple in Amritsar on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, police said.
Amritsar commissioner of police Gurpreet Bhullar told media persons that two motorcycle-borne persons hurled an explosive at the Thakurdwara temple. Nobody was hurt, however some glasses were broken.
He said that police officials as well as forensic teams reached the spot. CCTV footage was being looked into and the accused would be nabbed soon.
He said that a conspiracy by Pakistan to disturb peace might
be behind the incident.

Chandigarh, Feb 8 (UNI) In a major success against international narco-terror networks, the Amritsar Rural Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), has busted an organised cross-border smuggling module. The joint operation resulted in the recovery of a massive consignment consisting of 25 kg of heroin, two pistols, and 60 live cartridges.

Lucknow, Feb 8 (UNI) A new cyber fraud tactic has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, where scammers allegedly attempted to extort Rs 80 lakh from a retired municipal corporation inspector by threatening him with a so-called “digital arrest.”
The elderly man narrowly escaped the fraud due to the alertness of bank staff, police said today.
