Punjab CM vows to elimi nate traditional political parties; highlights education and health reforms at Gurdaspur rally

Chandigarh, Mar 9 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Akali Dal-BJP alliance, asserting that the people of Punjab are ready to use the ‘jhaadu’ (broom) once again to sweep away parties that practised "political exploitation" for decades.
Speaking at a large gathering in Qadian, Gurdaspur, after laying the foundation stone for the renovation of 237 rural link roads worth Rs 168.44 crore, the Chief Minister claimed that the state has transitioned into an era of development and welfare-driven governance.
Highlighting his government's focus on human capital, the Chief Minister stated that Punjab is sending government school teachers abroad for advanced training to ensure that local students do not have to leave the country for quality education. He noted that Punjab has surpassed Kerala to rank first in the National Achievement Survey and mentioned that hundreds of students from government 'Schools of Eminence' are now qualifying for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
