Punjab CM Mann accuses BJP of divisive politics, targets Congress and Akalis

Chandigarh, Jan 11 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday inaugurated a new district library in Bathinda, and used the occasion to launch a sharp attack on opposition parties, accusing them of spreading division and misinformation for political gain.
The newly built library, located near the district administrative complex, has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 9 crore. Speaking to the media after the inauguration, the Chief Minister said the facility reflects the state government’s commitment to promoting education and providing modern learning spaces for youth.
Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mann alleged that the party routinely indulges in religious politics and attempts to divide society. Referring to a recent controversy involving a video of Delhi’s former Chief Minister Atishi, he claimed that the clip was deliberately misrepresented. Mann said a forensic examination had established that the original video did not contain any objectionable reference, but subtitles were allegedly altered to link it with the names of Sikh Gurus, which he described as an act of disrespect.
