Pulwama terror attack: LG, Army, CRPF pay tributes to 40 CRPF personnel

Srinagar, Feb 14 (UNI) Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday paid homage to 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who lost their lives in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on this day in 2019.


“Heartfelt tribute to the courageous martyrs of the heinous Pulwama attack of 2019. Their supreme sacrifice in the service of motherland will forever be remembered. The courage & selfless commitment of our gallant heroes will continue to inspire generations,” the LG said in a post on X.

Senior officials of the CRPF paid homage to soldiers at Lethpora Pulwama.

A CRPF spokesman said a solemn ceremony was organised at Lethpora to pay homage & respect to the martyrs.
“Officers from all forces & civil administration attended the solemn ceremony,” he said.
Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps honoured the unwavering spirit of the CRPF on the Pulwama attack anniversary.

“Chinar Warriors pay obeisance to the CRPF Bravehearts, who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Pulwama attack. Their sacrifice will forever be etched in our hearts. Saluting the unyielding spirit of CRPF, who continue to brave the toughest challenges to safeguard our Nation and ensure peace and development in Kashmir,” Army said in a post on X.
The BJP J&K unit also paid tribute to the brave 40 CRPF Jawans on Friday. They paid floral tributes to CRPF men at the site of the blast.
On February 14, 2019 a local suicide bomber Adil Dar of Jaish-e-Mohammad rammed his explosive-laden car into CRPF bus at Lethpora Pulwama leaving 40 personnel of the force dead. The attack was followed by Balakote air strikes. A day later Pakistan retaliated and it triggered a brief dogfight. The Pulwama attack had brought India and Pakistan at the brink of war.
