Public places, transport services closed down in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 23 (UNI) The Manipur government has taken up extreme measures to control the spread of Covid 19 by restricting the movement of people, suspending inter and intrastate passenger services.
All social, religious, customary functions have been banned. For death and marriage, only a few persons were allowed to attend the rituals. All shops remained closed and police went around to see if anyone violated the restrictions.
All those who entered the state by air and roads were stamped on their hands and they were asked to remain self-quarantine for 14 days. Strict vigilance was maintained in the border areas and all trade activities remained suspended.
