Senior company representatives, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Dan Schumacher, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Agnes Semington, Chief Technology and & AI Officer Marc Kermisch and India MD Ashish Sharma, met Telangana IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu here on Thursday to discuss the proposed centre and its strategic role in global operations.
The proposed GCC will focus on advanced engineering, digital manufacturing technologies and product development, core to the company’s rapid prototyping and on-demand production model, the company said in a release here.
The company plans to commence operations this month and scale the centre to a headcount of 200–300 employees.
Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad offers a strong base of engineering talent and a growing manufacturing ecosystem, making it suitable for next-generation, product-driven GCCs.
He said the move would further strengthen the city’s capabilities in advanced engineering and digital manufacturing.
Protolabs CEO & President Suresh Krishna said the Hyderabad centre will be a catalyst for the company’s next phase of manufacturing innovation, leveraging India’s engineering talent while creating new job opportunities.
The GCC is expected to enhance Hyderabad’s innovation ecosystem by enabling faster transition from design to production for startups and enterprises, while supporting product-led growth.
