Promising talent Shahnavaz gets national team call up for Asian U20 championships

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Talented long jumper Shahnavaz Khan is among 48-member national track and field team that will compete in the upcoming Asian U20 Athletics Championships to be held in Hong Kong from May 28 onwards.
The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) selected the athletes on the basis of their performance in the domestic competition. Shahnavaz Khan's outstanding performance of 8.23m, a national U20 long jump record, was recorded at the just concluded 24th National Junior Athletics Federation Cup held in Karnataka.
Mohammed Ashfaq (400m and relay), Nitin Gupta (5000m race walk) and Pooja (high jump) are other prominent athletes in the national team for continental U20 meet.

London, June 10 (UNI) Serena Williams' doubles campaign at Queen's is in jeopardy after her partner Victoria Mboko suffered a knee injury in her singles match against Karolina Pliskova.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion, 44, made her return to tennis on Tuesday after almost four years away from the sport, playing doubles alongside Mboko.
The pair knocked out the third seeds, but there is now uncertainty around their quarter-final match on Thursday after Mboko suffered a nasty fall, according to BBC Sport.
