Prohibitory orders promulgated in Basanpeer village of Jaisalmer district

Jaipur, July 16 (UNI) The District Administration, Jaisalmer, has promulgated prohibitory orders under section 163 of BNSS as a precautionary measure in Basanpeer village where the situation continued to be tense but peaceful in the aftermath of a dispute between two communities over construction of cenotaphs (chhatris or memorial).
This banned assembling of five or more persons, holding rally, procession or march and moving in public with weapons.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Saksham Goyal enforced the prohibitory orders with effect from this morning, in apprehension of tension, ahead of scheduled visit of former Union Minister Kailash Choudhary, to the village later in the day.
