Professor of Akita university of Japan visits Odisha’s ITER

Bhubaneswar, Nov 11 (UNI) Prof. Satoru Yoshimura, Director of Department of Materials Science at Akita University, Japan, visited the Physics Department of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), faculty of engineering and technology of SOA Deemed to be University here, last week.
Prof. Yoshimura, who was accompanied by his research scholar, Ms. Swati Sucharita Das, a former M.Sc. student of ITER, delivered an excellent talk on the subject ‘Development of Ferromagnetic and Ferroelectric Thin Films with excellent Magnetic Properties and their application to newly proposed High-Performance Magnetic Devices’.
The talk was followed by a fruitful question-answer session and discussion session. It was attended by faculty members of the department including the Head of Department Prof. S.K. Kamilla, Prof. C.S. Ray, Prof. J. Nanda, Prof. V. Rama Rao, Prof. D.K. Mishra, Dr. P. Mohanty, Dr. K.L. Mahanta, Dr. S.K. Parida and Dr. Diana Pradhan from IOT Department along with M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.

Gumla coldest as temperature drops below 10°C in ten districts

Ranchi, Dec 07 (UNI) Jharkhand continues to reel under an intense cold wave as icy winds from North India push temperatures significantly below normal across several districts. While the sky remained clear throughout the day and no rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state, the minimum temperature has been steadily falling during the night and early morning hours, causing severe chills among residents. According to the Meteorological Department, ten districts have recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C.
