Prashant Kishor demands fresh probe into suspicious death of girl at Patna hostel

Jehanabad, Jan 16 (UNI) Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Friday demanded a fresh and impartial investigation into the recent suspicious death of a girl at a girls’ hostel in Patna.
After meeting the victim’s family in Jehanabad, Kishor said serious questions have emerged over the police handling of the case following the post-mortem report, which has raised the possibility of abuse. He said the police are portraying the incident as a case of suicide, while the victim’s family has alleged sexual assault. According to him, the post-mortem findings do not rule out the possibility of rape, making a re-investigation imperative.
Kishor said the incident has sparked widespread anger among local residents. He also cited allegations by the family that the current investigating officer is exerting pressure on them to withdraw the case.
