Prahlad Joshi calls for testing temple prasadam

Bengaluru, Sep 20 (UNI) Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, has called on the Karnataka government to conduct tests on the ‘Prasadam’ (offerings) from all sacred temples in the state.
His appeal follows allegations regarding the use of animal fat and fish oil in offerings at the Tirumala Tirupati temple, which have caused considerable unrest within the Hindu community.
In a press conference in New Delhi on Friday, Joshi expressed concern, stating, “The recent controversy surrounding the Tirupati laddu has disturbed the sentiments of the Hindu community. It is essential that we ensure the purity of offerings at all sacred sites.”
