Pradyot Debbarman vows tribal CM by 2028

Agartala, Oct 14 (UNI) In a bold move that reflects both personal ambition and a desire for a stronger tribal presence in leadership, ruling BJP’s coalition partner TIPRA Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman yesterday indicated realignment of politics and announced that by 2028, Tripura will have a tribal chief minister.
He was addressing a joining programme for his party in Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in the city, where 1,223 voters joined TIPRA Motha, deserting BJP and CPI-M. Pradyot has stated that mainstream parties such as BJP, CPI-M, and Congress will be excluded from the upcoming elections for the ADC and Village Committees to be held in a couple of months.
However, he has expressed willingness to discuss potential collaboration with the tribal-based IPFT, suggesting they might join the political landscape as subordinate partners. The gathering was marked by the presence of Forest Minister of Dr Manik Saha government, Animesh Debbarma.
