Prabhsimran is a sensational player: PBKS bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule

Mumbai, April 17 (UNI ) In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) clinched a commanding seven-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 24 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 yesterday. MI set a target of 196, but PBKS chased it down with ease at 198/3 in just 16.3 overs, showcasing their winning pedigree to establish themselves at the top of the points table with nine points after five games.
Opener Prabhsimran Singh's recent performances drew high praise from PBKS’ bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. The 25-year-old scored 80 runs in 39 deliveries at a strike rate of 205, staying at the crease throughout the innings. "Prabhsimran is a sensational player, as has been showcased by his consistency at the top order. He's always adapting to the situation of the game and making sure that we have a good start in every innings. He is one of the biggest reasons why we are able to score runs consistently over the past couple of years."
Bahutule attributed Prabhsimran's consistency to the influence of head coach Ricky Ponting. "I think a lot of the success can be attributed to Ricky's presence in the changing room. His positivity is felt by every member of the squad and players like Shreyas and Prabhsimran have responded really well to that." Bahutule also hailed the combination of Ponting and captain Shreyas Iyer at the helm. "Ricky, with Shreyas, is a fabulous combination for the franchise," he declared.
