Poonawala accuses Congress and SP for "Anti-Women Mindset," says leaders justify rape comments

New Delhi Jan 19, (UNI) BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala on Monday accused senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh of defending controversial remarks allegedly justifying rape, asserting that both the Congress and Samajwadi Party hold an “anti-women” stance.
Poonawala stated, “Shocker from Digvijay Singh ji – he has come out and defended the comments of Phool Singh Baraiya, who made obnoxious and disgusting remarks against women and in support of rapists.” He added that Baraiya had also targeted SC/ST women, yet Digvijay Singh reportedly opposed taking action against him.
The BJP spokesperson claimed this wasn’t the first instance of such defense, pointing out that Baraiya had previously been promoted in Madhya Pradesh despite his remarks, rather than being sacked by Rahul Gandhi.
