Poonacha-Myneni, Kalyanpur-Sasikumar shine at SMK Memorial doubles

Bengaluru, May 20 (UNI) Indian doubles teams produced a mixed but competitive outing at the SM Krishna Memorial Open – Bengaluru 2026 ATP Challenger on Wednesday, with two home pairs advancing to the next round while several others bowed out after closely fought encounters that underlined the fine margins at this level of professional tennis.
The highlight of the day for the Indian camp came from the experienced pairing of N Kaliyanda Poonacha and Saketh Myneni, who delivered a commanding 6-2, 6-3 win over F Alcantara and M Jones to book their place in the quarterfinals.
The Indian duo were dominant from the start, combining aggressive net play with controlled serving, winning 79 per cent of first-serve points and consistently applying pressure on their opponents’ service games. Their ability to dictate rallies and finish points decisively at the net proved to be the difference in a clinical performance.
