Political friction marks Mahyuti meet on Zilla Parishad–Panchayat Samiti polls in Ch. Sambhajinagar

Ch. Sambhajinagar, Jan 20 (UNI) Political tensions flared within the Mahyuti alliance in Ch. Sambhajinagar on Tuesday following a key meeting held to finalise strategy for the upcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections, with Bharatiya Janata Party workers openly protesting the renewed alliance with the Shiv Sena.
The meeting, held at a hotel in Ch. Sambhajinagar,, was convened in the backdrop of the recently concluded municipal corporation elections. Soon after leaders announced the alliance between the BJP and the Shiv Sena, BJP workers from the Vaijapur area expressed strong resentment, demanding that the tie-up be withdrawn.
Despite holding around 12 coordination meetings during the municipal polls, the Mahyuti alliance had collapsed at the final stage, with the BJP performing strongly in the elections while the Shiv Sena failed to secure the expected number of seats. In view of the forthcoming Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls, efforts were made once again to revive the alliance.
