Police recover skeletal remains of Kozhikode man reported missing six years ago; two friends arrested

Kozhikode, Sep 12 (UNI) Elathur police recovered the skeletal remains of Vijil (35) of West Hill, who had gone missing six years ago, from a marshy land near Sarovaram park at Kottooli, near Kozhikode town, on Friday.
The body remains were found after eight days of continuous search operation by using earthmover and dogs in the marshy lands since August 27, after the arrest of his two friends, following their contradictory statements during questioning by police.
Police also recovered the stone used to weigh down the body today, while a shoe of the victim was also recovered, yesterday, by using earth remover, cadaver dogs.
