Police launch major crackdown on terror networks in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 8 (UNI) In a major counter-terror operation, police in Kulgam and Sopore have launched simultaneous crackdowns to dismantle terror networks and subversive ecosystems. These operations focus on targeting overground workers (OGWs) and individuals linked to terrorist handlers operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In Kulgam, located in south Kashmir, the police acted on specific intelligence inputs and carried out multiple Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) across several areas of the district. These operations targeted individuals involved in facilitating, funding, and promoting terrorism, often at the behest of their relatives based across the border.
“During the operation, a number of relatives and associates of active J&K nationals operating from Pak or PoK were booked under relevant provisions of law for their continued involvement in anti-national activities, including logistical support, propaganda circulation, and aiding recruitment. Digital devices and incriminating materials were also seized during the raids,” police said.
