Police Commemoration Day: Rajnath to pay tribute at National Police Memorial on Oct 21

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Singh will lay a wreath at the National Police Memorial here on October 21 to honour the brave policemen on Police Commemoration Day.
The day commemorates the sacrifice of 10 valiant policemen who laid down their lives in an ambush by heavily armed Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh, on October 21, 1959. Since then, the day is observed as Police Commemoration Day every year, an official statement said.
A joint parade of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Delhi Police will be held as part of the event.
