PM speaks with J and K LG, CM, says authorities are working to assist those affected

New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about the situation in the wake of the cloudburst and flooding in Kishtwar and assured them that work was being done on the ground to assist those affected.
“Spoke to Jammu and Kashmir LG, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji and CM Shri Omar Abdullah Ji regarding the situation in the wake of the cloudburst and flooding in Kishtwar. Authorities are working on the ground to assist those affected,’’ the Prime Minister wrote on X.

At least 60 people, most of them pilgrims, were killed in flash floods on the Machail Mata Yatra route at Chasoti village in Kishtwar district on Thursday afternoon, Omar Abdullah said on Friday. More than 100 are injured.

First Batch of Kailash Mansarovar yatra 2026 flagged off in New Delhi
