PM Modi pays tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Jayanti, calls him beacon of courage and good governance

‎New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid heartfelt tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion of his Jayanti, hailing him as a visionary leader, exceptional administrator, strategic thinker and a steadfast champion of Swarajya.
‎In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy continues to illuminate the path for the nation.
“On the Jayanti of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we bow in reverence to the visionary leader, exceptional administrator, strategic thinker and champion of Swarajya,” Modi wrote.
‎He added, “May his courage inspire us, his governance guide us and his spirit of justice and self-respect strengthen our society.” Highlighting the enduring relevance of the Maratha king’s ideals, the Prime Minister said Shivaji Maharaj’s courage remains a source of inspiration for generations.
He noted that the ruler’s model of governance continues to serve as a guiding light, especially in ensuring justice and upholding self-respect within society. ‎“Shivaji Maharaj always placed the welfare of every single person above everything else and dedicated himself completely to their protection,” Modi said, underscoring the king’s commitment to public welfare and inclusive administration. “This unwavering dedication is why his life remains a beacon for India across generations.”
‎Born in 1630, Shivaji Maharaj founded the Maratha Empire and is widely remembered for establishing a progressive administrative system, strengthening naval forces, and championing the cause of Swarajya, or self-rule. His emphasis on efficient governance, military innovation, and respect for all communities has earned him enduring reverence across the country.
‎As the nation marks the Jayanti, the Prime Minister’s tribute reaffirmed the continued resonance of Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals of bravery, justice, and welfare-oriented governance in contemporary India.

New Delhi, March 13 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to examine the legal framework governing sanction under Section 20 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013, which deals with sanction to investigating agencies to file chargesheets and initiate prosecution against public servants accused of corruption. The Court also put on hold the investigation against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra in the cash-for-query case for now.
