PM Modi pays homage on Swahid Diwas, reaffirms commitment to Assam movement ideals

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the historic Assam Movement on the occasion of Swahid Diwas, reiterating the central government's dedication to fulfilling the movement's core objectives of strengthening Assamese culture and ensuring the state's all-round progress.
The Prime Minister's message, shared on his official X handle, recalled the valour of all those who participated in the six-year-long agitation.
In his post, PM Modi stated, "Today, on Swahid Diwas, we recall the valour of all those who were a part of the Assam Movement. The Movement will always have a prime place in our history. We reiterate our commitment to fulfilling the dreams of those who participated in the Assam Movement, notably the strengthening of Assam's culture and the all-round progress of the state."
