PM Modi in Thimphu: India, Bhutan strengthen development partnership, spiritual connect

Thimphu, Nov 11 (UNI) India and Bhutan strengthened their development partnership and spiritual connect with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck jointly inaugurating the 1020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project and also offering prayers to the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha at the Tashichhodzong monastery today.
Following talks between the two leaders in Thimphu, India also announced a Rs 4,000 crore Line of Credit (LoC) to Bhutan. Both sides also reached understanding on the resumption of work on the main dam structure of 1200 MW Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project, a run-of-the-river joint India-Bhutan initiative.
India has also granted land in Varanasi to Bhutan for building a Bhutanese Temple/Monastery and a Guest House. This follows the inauguration in September this year of a Bhutanese Buddhist Temple in Rajgir, Bihar, by the Bhutanese PM Tshering Tobgay.

Washington, Dec 12 (UNI) The White House on Thursday said President Donald Trump is "extremely frustrated" with Russia and Ukraine over the slow progress toward ending the four-year-old war, accusing both sides of holding meetings “for the sake of meeting.”
"The President is extremely frustrated with both sides of this war," Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. "He doesn't want any more talk. He wants action. He wants this war to come to an end."
"He's sick of meetings just for the sake of meeting," she added.
