PM Modi Awarded FAO’s Highest Honour for Advancing Sustainable Agriculture

‎New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the prestigious Agricola Medal by the Food and Agriculture Organization during a special ceremony at the FAO Headquarters in Rome on Wednesday, marking a major international recognition of India’s achievements in agricultural transformation, food security, and sustainable farming.

‎The Agricola Medal is the highest distinction awarded by the FAO and is reserved for global leaders who have demonstrated exceptional vision, political commitment, and measurable contributions toward strengthening agriculture, reducing hunger, and improving global food systems. With this recognition, Modi joins a select group of world leaders honoured with the award, including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and former Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
