PM inaugurates three redeveloped railway stations in Andhra Pradesh under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Visakhapatnam, July 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated three redeveloped railway stations in Andhra Pradesh -- Rayanapadu, Mangalagiri and Cumbum—under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) as part of the nationwide inauguration of 75 modernised railway stations.
The three stations have been redeveloped at a cumulative cost of about ₹50 crore with upgraded passenger amenities and modern infrastructure while incorporating local architectural and cultural elements.
The redeveloped stations feature modern station buildings, improved circulating areas, spacious waiting halls, upgraded toilet facilities, enhanced platform shelters, digital passenger information systems, energy-efficient lighting, standardised signage and improved multimodal connectivity.

APCC demands categorization of BCs on their population radio

Vijayawada, Aug 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) here on Wednesday demanded that BCs should be categorised based on their population ratio before implementing enhanced reservations in local bodies.
Addressing a press conference, APCC Vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji pointed out that BCs have 25% reservation in education and employment-7% for BC-A, 10% for BC-B, 1% for BC-C and 7% for BC-D and demanded that political reservations should also follow the same pattern and that the principle should be applied to the 2.69 crore BC population in Andhra Pradesh.

Unprecedented irregularities in APPSC Group I exams during YSRCP rule: Naidu

Vijayawada, Aug 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday alleged unprecedented irregularities in the APPSC Group-1 examinations conducted during the previous YSRCP regime and vowed to revamp the APPSC system.
All procedures were violated in the recruitment of Group-1 officers, whose services are crucial in shaping the future of the State, he said, while participating in a special discussion in the Legislative Assembly.
