PM hails ‘Keralam’ name change, commits to fisherfolk welfare at Dheevara Sabha Golden Jubilee

Kochi, March 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has fulfilled the long-standing demand to rename the state “Keralam”, giving it an identity that reflects Malayali culture.
He made the remarks while addressing the golden jubilee celebration of the Akhila Kerala Dheevara Sabha here.
Modi began his speech in Malayalam, greeting the “children of the sea” and congratulating the Dheevara Sabha for 50 years of dedicated service in protecting the rights of Kerala’s fishing community. He emphasized that he had come not to give blessings, but to seek blessings from the fisherfolk.
