PM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for families of victims in Bengal boat mishap

New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the deaths caused by a boat capsizing in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district and announced ex-gratia assistance from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of the deceased as well as those injured in the tragedy.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the loss of lives was deeply distressing and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families while wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
"The loss of lives due to the capsizing of a boat in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal is deeply painful. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. May the injured recover at the earliest," Modi said.
