Pavithra Gowda held after SC bail cancelled in murder case

Bengaluru, Aug 14 (UNI) Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda, one of the prime accused in the sensational Renukaswamy murder case, was taken into police custody here today after the Supreme Court cancelled her bail along with that of actor Darshan and other co-accused.
A police team detained Pavithra from her residence within hours of the apex court’s order. Darshan, who is yet to be apprehended, was reportedly spotted earlier in the day at the Punajanur check post on the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu border, travelling in his SUV.
The Supreme Court, in its directive, underscored that “persons regardless of popularity are equal before the law” and ordered immediate custody of all accused, with instructions for the trial to be conducted on a fast-track basis.
