Patna HC orders NMC to initiate steps for recruitment of doctors

Patna, Jan 19 (UNI) Patna High Court has directed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to ask states across the country to initiate steps to recruit a sufficient number of doctors for improving the treatment facilities in government hospitals.
Hearing a petition filed by doctors of some medical colleges of Bihar challenging the instruction from the National Medical Commission for Aadhaar-based attendance, Justice Bibek Chaudhary ordered the Commission to ask the states to recruit sufficient number of doctors for improving the treatment facilities in hospitals.
The court noted that there were a large number of vacancies for the posts of doctors in government hospitals, which made it difficult for those on duty to meet challenge of treating patients for longer hours.
