Passion for organic farming leads BJP leader Annamalai to start dairy, applies for loan under PMEGP

Chennai, Sep 12 (UNI) Rattled at documents pertaining to his acquiring agricultural property going viral on social media, BJP leader K Annamalai today clarified that he had purchased the property in Coimbatore district to pursue his passion in organic farming and to start a dairy.
According to him this is the first and only immovable property he had purchased till now and he had also applied for a loan to start the dairy under the PMEGP scheme, which is currently being processed.
Confirming that he had bought the property at Kalapatti, complying with all state laws, the former state BJP president said in a statement: “Yes, it’s true that I recently purchased agricultural land on 12th July 2025. I have purchased the land with a combination of debt and savings from my wife and me. Monthly interest has been paid for the past two months by me for the debt component through my bank account… We have complied with all the relevant state laws, and we have paid Stamp duty & registration tax etc. to the state government, also amounting to Rs 40,59,220.”
