Panchkula launches Special Electoral Roll revision; 4.29 lakh voters to be covered

Panchkula, Jun 8 (UNI) A month-long door-to-door voter verification exercise will commence across Panchkula district from June 15 as part of the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of photo electoral rolls with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
Addressing a press conference at the Mini Secretariat here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Satpal Sharma said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would conduct house-to-house verification from June 15 to July 14 to ensure that the electoral rolls are accurate, updated, and free from ineligible entries.
Sharma said Panchkula district currently has 4,29,273 registered voters. Of these, the Kalka Assembly constituency has 1,99,315 electors, comprising 1,03,895 male voters, 95,407 female voters, and 13 voters in the third-gender category. The Panchkula Assembly constituency has 2,29,958 voters, including 1,20,628 males, 1,09,323 females, and seven third-gender voters.
